Casting Operative

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for experiened casting operatives to join our clients busy manufacturing site in wolverhampton. You will be employed on a full time basis - working 40 hours per week on a 6 month fixed term contract.

We are looking for the best casting operatives who take pride in their work, that are reliable hard-working and punctual to become a trusted member of our clients existing, friendly and professional team whereby you will supporting in the first step of the process, creating high-end beautifully finished quality products

The main purpose of the role will be to pour clay mixtures into a mould, ready to be dried and de-moulded before being passed to the next department

Daily duties and responsibilities:-

• Daily powdering of case and drum which involves preparing, powdering and ready-for-use
• Take care and pride in the de-moulding process.
• Help control dust in your area with good housekeeping.
• Push down backing clay to be in specification to help the de-moulding process.
• Prepare casting moulds and cores, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Monitor the casting process, identifying and rectifying any potential issues
• Always follow SOP standards as trained.
• Use of mould-handling equipment
• Ensuring that housekeeping standards are always met through regular area cleaning.
• Communicating any material defects, unsafe practices, or equipment to the Departmental team Leader.
• Understanding the process you are responsible for and the impact of its failures.
• You will be responsible for substituting moulds in line with the required casting plan

Working hours and salary:-

• Monday to Friday 6am til 2pm OR Monday to Friday 2pm till 10pm
• £27,000 per annum (offered on a 6 month FTC basis)
• Wolverhampton

It is essential you can mainain motivation throughout the day with repetitive routine tasks. Working well and communicating well with the team around you is an absolute must, and keeping exceptional attention to detail throughout the day to achieve only the highest standards is cruicial

Successful applicants will have experience using pallet trucks, and will ideally hold or have previosuly held A2, A5 and A7 licenses. Valid Licenses are preffered, but not essential
